Emotion Tracking

In modern times, we are occupied keeping an eye on our own performance at work or measuring the performance of our customers, business partners, and suppliers. But how many of us are actually tracking how we feel each day?

Do you maintain an emotion catalog of yours? If not every day, at least once in a while? I guess a very handful of us do. In the current times of turbulent economic climate, and continued uncertainty about life, tracking our emotional well-being is a must. We are exhibiting mounting signs of clinical anxiety and depression. Researchers worldwide are exploring innovative solutions to help people monitor and regulate their emotions.

Emotions are part of our everyday lives. They tell us something about ourselves. They are neither good nor bad and are simply reactions to our situations. Some people may spend years, or even a lifetime, not understanding the depths of their emotions. It can often be hard to open up. We continually assess the value of our disclosure.

Hence journaling our emotions can be a great way to track and understand them more clearly. Writing them down releases our pent-up negative emotions. The mind calms down and reboots. When we start tracking our feelings, we are more self-aware. Over a period of time, it gives us a record of our development. It opens our minds to unexplored possibilities which we simply can’t notice when we are overwhelmed and fretting. Just logging in to our emotions provides a deep sense of fulfillment and helps us execute our goals.

I would say tracking our emotions transforms our lives. I vouch for it because I have seen the transformation in my life since the time, I started keeping a record of how I feel. I view my writing time as a personal time when I can de-stress and unwind from all the daily chaos. Keeping a check on my emotions has helped me build a deeper connection with myself and my mental well-being.

Are you now ready to take a deep dive into your emotions and channel them into a meaningful pursuit of actionable?
